Modular data center and liquid cooling for artificial intelligence (AI) applications

Vertiv in Westerville, Ohio, is introducing the Vertiv MegaMod CoolChip, a liquid cooling-equipped prefabricated modular data center for efficient artificial intelligence (AI) computing. The MegaMod CoolChip can reduce the time to deploy AI critical digital infrastructure by as much as 50 percent.
MegaMod CoolChip is intended for AI compute by integrating Vertiv CoolChip technology to support direct-to-chip liquid cooling and high-efficiency power protection and distribution. The modular data center can be modular retrofit of an existing facility or a freestanding data center that supports hundreds of kilowatts per row. The modular data center includes compute; liquid cooling; high-efficiency power protection; modular assembly; and single-source accountability. Related: The ever-shrinking world of small-form-factor embedded computing MegaMod CoolChip supports accelerated computing integrated into equipment racks with plumbing and Vertiv rack power distribution units. Vertiv chillers and cooling distribution help manage cooling fluids. MegaMod CoolChip thermal management uses direct-to-chip cooling for microprocessors and graphics-processing units by managing heat removal from components not serviced by the direct-to-chip cold plates. Power protection and distribution includes busway, switchgear, and compatibility with the Vertiv Trinergy uninterruptible power supply, and the Vertiv PowerNexus modular data center. MegaMod CoolChip arrives in prefabricated units, including the building enclosure and all building systems. It also is available in skid-mounted units.
MegaMod CoolChip data centers can improve power usage effectiveness compared to data centers using traditional technologies. For more information contact Vertiv online at www.vertiv.com.
